Job summary

Transtel seeks a Telecommunications Level III Technician to install, maintain, and test complex telecom equipment in Central Office and data center environments. The role leads junior installers, ensuring safety and quality while following standards and procedures.

The position requires ability to travel 1–4 weeks in the lower 48 states, strong leadership, and a commitment to professional, safe project completion."

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of digital infrastructure experience with expert-level proficiency in telecommunications equipment installation.
• Experience in ISP/Central Office/Headend/Data Center network facilities strongly preferred.
• Ability to lead, train and mentor Level I & II installers on installation & decommission projects.
• Identify, label, measure, terminate, and route cables for AC/DC power or data transmission.
• Produce, read and interpret detailed specifications, drawings, and MOPs; perform quality validation and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Material Handling: loading, unloading, and transporting equipment for installation and decommissioning.
• Site Preparation: secure and prepare work sites, install safety signage and barriers.
• Installation & Decommission Assistance: assist in systematic installation & decommissioning of telecom equipment, including cabling and equipment removal.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area at job sites and in facilities.
• Operate hand and power tools and potentially heavy machinery during tasks.
• Site Restoration: cleanup and restore work areas after installations and decommissioning.
• Work at Heights: climb ladders or use lifts as needed.
• Understand procedures & processes; learn established installation and decommissioning techniques.
• Commit to continuous learning in a evolving telecom environment.
• Work Environment: may be exposed to varying environments.
