Job summary

TAK Broadband in Columbus, IN is seeking a Sr Construction Manager to lead and manage all aspects of utility construction for telecom projects, overseeing site planning, scheduling, budgeting and resource allocation.

The role requires 12+ years in the field, a Bachelor's in Construction Management or related discipline, OSHA 10 preferred, and proven leadership. Strong communication, safety focus, and flexibility are essential, including evenings and weekends when required.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of total relevant experience in a supervisory/leadership role.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or relevant field of study; or equivalent work experience.
• OSHA 10 certification a plus.
• Knowledge of telecom construction (Coax Splicing, Fiber Splicing, Directional Drilling, map reading).
• Knowledge and experience with aerial and underground construction.
• Experience in estimating, bidding projects and change order preparation.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of utility construction for telecom projects.
• Oversee site planning, scheduling, budgeting and resource allocation.
• Supervise onsite construction activities; ensure compliance with design specifications, building codes and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address issues or risks.
• Manage relationships with contractors, vendors and suppliers; ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation including progress reports, drawings, permits and change orders.
• Communicate project status and budgetary insights to stakeholders.
• Implement best practices for construction quality control, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Work a flexible schedule with evenings and weekends as needed.
