Job summary

GRAEF is seeking a Senior Technology Designer to lead the planning, design, and coordination of low-voltage technology systems for a wide range of facilities. The role requires strong technical expertise in telecommunications and electronic security, plus client-facing skills and mentoring abilities.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
  • 5 years of experience designing low-voltage technology systems for buildings.
  • Experience using Revit is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interoffice and communication skills and the ability to work independently are crucial.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and documentation of low-voltage technology systems.
  • Prepare construction drawings, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate designs with architects, engineers, owners, contractors, and technology vendors.
  • Conduct site investigations, existing condition assessments, and construction observations.
  • Review shop drawings, RFIs, and contractor submittals.
  • Serve as a technical resource for project teams and clients.
  • Mentor junior designers and help establish technology design standards and best practices.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technology Designer to lead the planning, design, and coordination of low-voltage technology systems for a wide variety of commercial, institutional, industrial, healthcare, municipal, and educational facilities. This position plays a critical role in delivering innovative and reliable communications and security infrastructure solutions while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering and architectural teams. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in telecommunications and electronic security systems, exceptional client-facing skills, and a passion for mentoring junior staff.

We are considering candidates who possess the following minimum qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
  • 5 years of experience designing low-voltage technology systems for buildings. Candidates with additional experience are encouraged to apply.
