AEP is seeking a Senior/Principal Technical Writer to produce, edit, and maintain high-quality NERC compliance documentation for the ENRA organization in Columbus, OH. You will translate regulatory and technical inputs into clear procedures, collaborate with SMEs and leadership, and support meeting facilitation and project coordination.

The role requires 4–5 years of technical writing, a degree in a related field, and experience with Visio/process mapping.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or four-year technology degree with emphasis in technical communication; equivalent professional experience considered.
• 4–5 years of technical writing or documentation experience.
• Preferred: ability to manage multiple documentation efforts simultaneously; experience with Visio and process mapping.

Responsabilités

• Prepare, edit, and maintain NERC compliance documentation (procedures, guidelines, policies, process maps).
• Edit documents for spelling, grammar, clarity, consistency, content accuracy, readability, and compliance alignment.
• Translate moderate to complex regulatory requirements into clear language for non-technical stakeholders.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams during procedure development and revision efforts; ensure alignment with internal standards and external NERC requirements.
• Verify documented processes reflect actual practices and system behavior; maintain revision guidelines and formatting conventions.
