Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Technical Writer/Editor in Washington, DC to craft and maintain technical documentation for IT systems. You will translate complex concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences and support modernization programs across on-premise and cloud environments.

Working with engineering, program stakeholders, and leadership, you will develop strategies, briefings, and roadmaps to inform decisions and ensure quality delivery in a fast-paced federal contracting environment.

Qualifications

7 years of experience creating and editing technical documentation for IT systems.
Experience coordinating with government management to produce training materials.
Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, usable documentation.
Experience as an individual consultant or team lead in a technical setting.

Responsibilities

Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content with SMEs.
Develop, organize, and write manuals, specifications, and process docs; centralize storage.
Create information architecture templates that meet standards and support data migration.
Develop content in alternative media for maximum usability and cohesive voice across docs.
