Job summary

Aalis Management Consulting is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to develop, revise, and maintain clear, accurate technical and procedural documentation supporting a federal IT organization.

The position combines on-site work in Southwest Washington, DC with a flexible hybrid schedule, requiring collaboration with subject-matter experts, project managers, and government stakeholders to deliver manuals, user guides, and training materials that meet security and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of technical-writing and/or desktop-publishing experience.
• Experience developing technical manuals, guides, training or procedural documentation.
• Excellent editing, organization, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaborative document environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update manuals, standard operating procedures, user guides, training materials, reports, and other technical documentation.
• Interview subject-matter experts and translate technical information into clear customer-ready content.
• Maintain document consistency, version control, formatting and quality.
• Support document review, routing, approval and sign-off workflows.
• Coordinate with project managers, analysts, technical staff and Government stakeholders to keep documentation current.
