Scientific Research Corporation in North Charleston, SC seeks a Technical Writer III to develop, edit, and maintain documentation for software applications, systems, interfaces, and infrastructure.

You will translate complex technical information for both technical and non-technical audiences, participate in Agile ceremonies, and ensure documentation quality, standards, and compliance, including security and accessibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in technical writing, communications, IT, or engineering
• 5+ years of professional technical writing experience
• Experience producing documentation for complex software/IT systems
• Experience gathering information from developers, engineers, and SMEs
• Strong understanding of SDLC and documenting across lifecycle stages
• Ability to translate complex concepts for technical and non-technical audiences
• Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio)
• Able to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
• Active TS/SCI clearance to start

Responsabilités

• Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation for software, systems, interfaces, and infrastructure
• Create architecture docs, design specs, user guides, SOPs, API docs, release notes
• Collaborate with developers, engineers, Scrum teams, and SMEs to validate information
• Translate complex concepts for technical and non-technical audiences
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint planning
• Review requirements and artifacts to identify documentation needs
• Establish documentation standards, templates, and quality-control processes
• Ensure documentation accuracy, completeness, and security/compliance
• Track changes using version-control and configuration-management processes
• Coordinate reviews and incorporate feedback from stakeholders
• Support software releases with release notes and deployment docs
• Maintain docs in Confluence, SharePoint, Git, Jira, etc.
• Identify gaps and opportunities to improve documentation
• Provide status updates on documentation activities and deliverables
