Job summary

Kong Inc., a leading AI connectivity company, is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to build clear API docs, developer guides, and release notes for our software products. You will work with product managers, engineers, and other writers to collect, validate, and structure technical content.

You will test documentation with CLI tools, manage versioned content with Git, and help shape documentation strategy across product areas to improve adoption and reduce support tickets.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of technical writing in software development.
• Proven API documentation experience and developer guides.
• Familiarity with API testing and CLI tooling.
• Experience with Git for version control and collaboration.
• Interest in AI and its application to documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication with attention to accuracy.
• Experience maintaining docs as a product with prioritization.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write, and edit API docs, guides, references, and release notes.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to gather information.
• Research technical details and test software to verify accuracy.
• Use CLI tools to test features and document results.
• Maintain and update existing documentation, deprecate outdated content.
