Job summary

Apex Fintech Solutions LLC is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to craft API documentation and developer guides for our fintech platform. You will partner with engineers, product managers, architects, and business stakeholders to translate complex concepts into clear, user-focused content.

You will mentor colleagues, ensure adherence to writing guidelines, and leverage AI tools to accelerate content quality and delivery while maintaining high accuracy and security standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in English, technical communications, computer science, or a similar field
• 7+ years of experience as a technical writer for a developer audience at a fast-paced software company
• Proven experience writing detailed, user-centered API and programming documentation in a fast-paced software environment
• Outstanding ability to grasp and communicate interrelationships between topics clearly and meaningfully
• Experience using generative AI tools as part of a professional workflow with validation
• Ability to advocate for users' needs with experience and facts
• Knowledge of evolving technical documentation standards for developer audiences
• Ability to work in US time zones (Central Standard Time preferred)
• Experience with Markdown or another markup language, GitHub, Jira, and Swagger
• Familiar with programming languages such as Java, Go, Python, TypeScript
• Strong writing portfolio demonstrating these skills

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain high-quality, client-facing API and knowledge base content
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, architecture, and client-facing teams to write API documentation and guides
• Lead documentation initiatives and drive projects to completion with minimal oversight
• Develop API reference documentation, integration guides, tutorials, quick starts, how-to guides, and release documentation
• Use generative AI tools to research, draft, restructure, analyze, summarize, and improve content
• Apply human editorial judgment to AI-generated content for accuracy and security
• Identify opportunities to use AI to reduce repetitive documentation tasks
• Develop AI prompts and repeatable workflows for documentation creation and knowledge management
• Explore structured content, metadata, and reusable components to improve accessibility for humans and AI
• Maintain knowledge bases for easy access by humans and AI systems
