Job summary

MKS Instruments is seeking a Principal Technical Support Engineer (ESI, an MKS Company) to partner with Engineering and Field teams to solve customer and engineering problems. You will guide quality improvements, provide timely support, and report to the Product Hardware Engineering Manager.

You will mentor junior engineers, contribute to knowledge bases, and help drive process improvements while ensuring adherence to SLAs and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree; Master’s degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in service engineering or a similar technical support role.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level technical support to customers and resolve complex issues.
• Handle escalated technical issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve problems.
• Interact with customers to diagnose issues and provide timely, effective solutions.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers on troubleshooting, best practices, and customer interactions.
• Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge bases, and support tools.
• Share knowledge to enhance overall team capability and identify process improvements.
