Job summary

MKS Instruments is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer in Irvine, CA to design, develop and support electronic hardware and embedded firmware across the product lifecycle. You will perform board bring-up, debugging and validation while collaborating with global engineering teams to deliver high-quality, manufacturable solutions.

The role requires 5+ years of electronics experience (Bachelor's) or 3 years with a Master's, proficiency in C/C++, and familiarity with PCB design tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of related electronics engineering experience.
• Experience with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support electronic hardware for products across the lifecycle.
• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot embedded firmware for microcontroller-based systems.
• Perform board bring-up, hardware verification, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and global engineering teams to deliver robust solutions.
• Participate in customer-facing discussions and travel as needed (domestic/international).
