Senior Technical Space Operations Engineer

The Space and Intelligence (S&I) Division provides engineering services and support to the Air Force, Space Force, and other agencies. Our work includes systems engineering, test planning, cost analysis, and developing advanced technologies to meet national defense needs.

We are seeking multiple Senior Technical Space Operations Engineers and SMEs for various locations including Colorado Springs, El Segundo, Dulles, Albuquerque, San Antonio, Cape Canaveral, and Palm Bay. Travel is minimal, less than five percent, and domestic.

Responsibilities

Positions include:

• Senior Action Group Managers in Colorado Springs
• Chief Engineers in Colorado Springs
• Ground/Communications Systems Engineers in El Segundo, Colorado Springs, Albuquerque, or San Antonio
• Ground Systems Engineers in El Segundo, Colorado Springs, or Dulles
• Lead RF Engineers in Colorado Springs
• Space Control Experts in El Segundo or Colorado Springs
• SSA Operations Engineers in Colorado Springs
• Space Systems Engineers in El Segundo or Palm Bay
• Space Systems Experts in El Segundo
• System Operations Support Engineers in Colorado Springs

SME positions include roles such as Chief Engineering SMEs, Communications & RF Payload SMEs, Launch Experts, and Space System Engineering SMEs, primarily in Colorado Springs and El Segundo.

Qualifications

Required:

• U.S. Citizens only
• Active TS/SCI clearance or eligible
• Masters in a relevant STEM field or equivalent experience
• Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle

Desired:

• Experience with space-based systems design and operation
• Relevant training or coursework in space operations or STEM
• Familiarity with Air Force and USSF acquisition policies
• Certifications like PMP or CSEP/ESEP
• Current CI polygraph or willingness to obtain
• Proficiency with space operations tools such as MATLAB, STK, MBSE, etc.

Additional Information

SPA offers a competitive total compensation package, including salary, benefits, and variable pay. Salary range: $170,000 - $240,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
