Job summary

Acme Tools in Grand Forks, ND is seeking a Senior Technical SEO Strategist to own the technical foundation of our organic search program. You will lead site architecture, structured data, and performance across tens of thousands of products, working with engineering, content, and eCommerce teams.

You will drive AI-driven search strategies, optimize metadata and on-page content, and build dashboards linking SEO to traffic and revenue.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
• 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, including at least 2 years in technical SEO for large catalogs.
• Strong foundation in technical, on-page, and content SEO fundamentals.
• Hands-on with Google Search Console and Google Analytics; proficiency with Screaming Frog.
• Experience implementing structured data and schema markup at scale.
• Proven track record of driving organic growth for large eCommerce sites.
• SQL or Python skills to pull and analyze data for SEO performance.
• Familiarity with enterprise eCommerce platforms (Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Shopify, Magento).
• Experience with AI-driven search optimization is a strong plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to translate technical concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the SEO roadmap; align technical priorities to traffic and revenue goals.
• Lead site architecture, internal linking, and category/product page structure decisions.
• Collaborate with engineering to fix crawlability, indexation, speed, and site health issues.
• Implement and maintain structured data and schema markup at scale.
• Manage faceted navigation, canonicalization, redirects, and crawl budgets.
• Audit Core Web Vitals and page performance; write actionable engineering specs.
• Adapt SEO strategy for AI-driven search experiences and generative queries.
• Optimize metadata, titles, headings, and on-page content for rankings and AI.
• Lead keyword research, competitive analysis, and content gap identification.
• Build dashboards linking organic performance to traffic and revenue.
• Conduct server log analysis for crawl/index issues at catalog scale.
• Influence site releases and migrations from a technicalSEO perspective.
• Partner with content teams to show E-E-T and meet technical quality standards.
• Educate stakeholders and manage outside agencies as needed.
