Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Program Manager for the Data and Scientific Computing Service for Sustainment of GenISIS Team. This role oversees 20+ professionals across software, systems, and infrastructure, ensuring on-time, on-scope delivery with quality standards.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and able to coordinate multiple projects in a dynamic technical environment while communicating status to leadership. This is a fully remote US-based position with core hours 8 AM–5 PM ET.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, Business, PM, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of program management or technical program coordination experience.
• Experience coordinating technical teams (10+ professionals).
• Experience with software development and IT infrastructure or systems administration.
• Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, risk management, and status reporting.
• Proficiency with PM tools: Jira, MS Project, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and resource assignments.
• Break complex initiatives into manageable tasks with owners and deadlines.
• Coordinate multiple projects and manage dependencies across teams.
• Monitor progress and address delays or resource conflicts.
• Ensure deliverables meet requirements, quality standards, and customer expectations.
• Maintain project documentation, decisions, and change requests.
• Communicate status to leadership and stakeholders.
• Identify risks and recommend mitigation actions.
• Establish and improve PM practices, reporting, and processes.
