Job summary

Inversion is seeking a Technical Program Manager, Reentry Systems in Playa Vista, CA to lead a major reentry system development program from requirements through production and delivery.

The role requires deep mechanical engineering expertise, hands-on leadership of multi-disciplinary teams, and the ability to communicate effectively with the customer and senior stakeholders. U.S. government or defense project experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience developing and delivering complex hardware systems.
• Deep knowledge of mechanical design and analysis, including structures, thermal, and hardware integration.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams through challenging development programs with aggressive schedules.
• Experience working with external customers, preferably U.S. government or defense customers.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end program execution for a reentry system, from requirements through production and delivery.
• Define the integrated technical plan across disciplines to deliver flight-ready hardware.
• Drive trades, resolve cross-functional issues, and ensure design maturity and verification evidence.
• Develop and manage integrated program schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, and execution plans.
• Lead major design and technical reviews and ensure readiness for the next development phase.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and production to transition designs to repeatable production.
