About the Job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) focused on Network Capacity Planning, you will work with the Global Google Networking Technology team. You will scale the Google Production Network by managing cross-functional programs that require working with all organizational levels and groups. You will have a background in Software Engineering, Network Capacity Forecasting and Planning.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver cross-functional projects/programs with predictability and ensure they provide value to our customers. Manage software programs that include large software components and algorithms used for network capacity forecasting and planning of Google's global network.
  • Work with core engineering teams to develop and articulate long term strategy and short term plans. Develop roadmaps, engage teams and engineers and set the pace for development.
  • Use technical judgment to drive project delivery and technology reviews/proposals and build consensus amongst cross-functional teams. Provide a quantitative analysis focus and translate findings into recommendations and actionable plans.
  • Set project/program success criteria, create measurable milestones, track deliverables and deliver customer value.
  • Design and launch new processes, process improvements, and help program teams scale. Improve Google’s ability to deliver network capacity on-time, with high availability while achieving maximum efficiency.
