Job summary

Lam Research in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a senior technical leader to drive upgrades and install base re-use/relocation solutions. You will coordinate with Engineering, Product Management, and Operations to define upgrades scope, analyze BOMs, and close gaps in upgradeability while mentoring the team toward cost reductions and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• BS Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial engineering with 15+ years experience; or a Master's degree with 12+ years experience; or a PhD with 8+ years experience; or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, manufacturing engineering, field service engineering, or pilot engineering with a focus on equipment design, maintenance, or upgradeability.
• Exceptional knowledge of semiconductor capital equipment hardware; Lam equipment knowledge a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, influence, manage and drive results within a complex organizational environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams and meet programs objectives.
• Experience with Hardware Configuration/Product Management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive alignment with Engineering, Product Management, and Operations to define Upgrades BOM and Scope of Works.
• Identify requirements and gaps in the install base regarding upgradeability and drive engineering solutions.
• Support regionalization requirements with upgrade execution, including onsite large tech upgrades and off-site factory solutions; travel required.
• Provide Product Lines with technical support (Upgrades scope of work and re-use strategies, cost analysis).
• Coordinate with PG to develop strategies for Upgrade Paths with new product introductions (Shift Left).
• Mentor the team toward cost reduction, upgrade execution paths, and project prioritization.
• Present project plans to senior management, gain buy-in, and deliver results.
• Ensure best practices in engineering, product development, and operational execution.
• Maintain passion for standards and documentation; collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete projects on time and within budget.
