Job summary

The Marvin Group is a defense contractor in the Los Angeles area, supporting DoD programs and major primes. They seek an experienced Design Engineer to lead development of pneumatic, mechanical and electro-mechanical systems and ensure compliance with AS9100 in R&D projects.

The role requires a Pearl of experience: a bachelor’s in Mechanical/Aerospace, 10+ years in project management, and 5+ years designing components or systems for aviation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in project management.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in design of components or systems in a development environment, preferably in military or commercial aviation.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing of mechanical components and assemblies with emphasis in complex electromechanical systems, or large structures.
• Must be able to generate and track program schedules using Microsoft Project.
• Must have experience with reading and interpreting MIL-STD documents.
• Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
• Must be able to write technical reports documenting status.

Responsibilities

• Develop systems using pneumatic, mechanical and electro-mechanical components and assemblies.
• Coordinate between design, manufacturing and quality assurance functions.
• Create and maintain AS9100 program plans and evidence of compliance for R&D group.
• Provide technical and cost inputs for customer inquiries and proposals during campaigns.
• Work within cross-functional teams and as an individual contributor.
