Job summary

The Ed Wallach Search Group is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager in Sioux Falls, SD to lead complex Stratospheric Balloon and Radar programs from early engagement through execution and delivery.

You'll work across engineering, operations, contracts, and business development, shaping solutions, balancing scope, cost, schedule, and performance while serving as the primary interface with customers and internal leadership. This is a high-visibility role requiring strategic leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience with 4+ years leading technical programs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex engineering or systems-development programs.
• Experience working with U.S. Government customers (DoD/IC) and knowledge of DoD procurement processes.
• Strong systems engineering background with the ability to engage credibly with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex programs with responsibility for cost, schedule, technical performance, and customer satisfaction.
• Serve as primary technical and program interface with customers and internal leadership.
• Shape customer requirements and technical approaches through concept, capture, proposal, and execution phases.
• Translate customer needs into clear technical and system-level requirements.
• Lead cross-functional teams spanning engineering, operations, contracts, supply chain, and business development.
• Guide product architecture, technical roadmaps, and system integration decisions.
• Monitor program performance against baselines and drive corrective action as needed.
• Coordinate long-lead procurement and supply-chain activities to support delivery.
• Develop and deliver program status reports and customer-facing presentations.
• Mentor junior program managers and establish PM best practices.
