Job summary

At Atlassian, we are seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to shape and deliver the highest-priority, most complex programs for our Developer Infrastructure & Productivity teams. This senior IC role spans multiple teams and time horizons, driving outcomes beyond project plans.

You will partner with leaders across Product, Engineering, Design, and more, owning lifecycle accountability and establishing reusable systems and coaching to elevate program-management craft.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience on software teams as Development Manager or TPM.
• Strategic thinking and ability to translate business objectives into technical problems and programs.
• Technical understanding of systems involved; willingness to develop domain expertise (storage, networking, authentication, capacity management, deployments, etc).
• TPMs are not expected to write or read code, but should understand system flows and APIs.
• Experience defining and running end-to-end complex technical programs.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business objectives, customer needs, product adoption issues, and opportunities to define a long-term strategy and roadmap for your platform and components.
• Translate business objectives into technical problems and prioritize them in the current environment.
• Define specific systems programs and create action plans (capacity planning, migrations, high availability, network architecture, performance, reliability, etc).
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to progress on these problems.
• Take a systematic approach to engineering problems: prioritize tasks, scope projects, define objectives, and maintain progress.
• Manage the lifecycle of programs from initiation to forecasting, budgeting, scheduling, etc.
• Coordinate and manage complex dependencies across the company.
