Job summary

Griffon Aerospace is seeking an experienced product owner to lead airframe system engineering, from drawing board to flight line, with a focus on integration, test, and producibility.

You will own SRDs, ICDs, and CONOPS, coordinate with aero, structures, GNC, and manufacturing, and serve as the main technical interface with government offices and primes.

Active Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred) and 7+ years in defense aerospace are required; relocation and a strong team culture are offered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, or Electrical Engineering; shipped hardware matters.
  • 7+ years in defense aerospace product development with on UAS, launched effects, or precision-guided UAS programs.
  • Active Secret clearance required; TS/SCI preferred for sensitive programs.
  • Experience with PEO Aviation, Missiles & Space, AvMC, or SOCOM offices is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the product engineering for one Griffon Group 3 launched effects product.
  • Own requirements, design priorities, and performance envelopes for airframe systems—aero, structures, propulsion, electrical, software, payload.
  • Write SRDs, ICDs, and CONOPS that engineers can actually build to.
  • Run trade studies on platform configurations and manufacturing approaches with design and producibility teams.
  • Lead hardware development through flight test; read data and drive corrective action.
  • Own configuration control across development, qualification, and production baselines.
  • Serve as primary technical interface between Griffon's engineering teams and government offices, primes, and BD.
  • Partner with SW and external autonomy teams on PX4-based or custom GNC architectures.
  • Support IPTs across aero, structures, GNC, propulsion, electronics, payload, and manufacturing.
  • When design matures, coordinate with supply chain to enter low-rate production at target unit cost and delivery rate.
