Job summary

Fervo Energy seeks a Senior Technical Product Manager for Internal Software to own the development of internal tools connecting users with engineers and translating ambiguous needs into concrete product requirements. You’ll work across engineering, construction, drilling, and operations to drive adoption and impact.

The role demands strong technical judgment, hands-on prototyping, and collaboration with AI/ML teams to embed automation.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience across software engineering, technical product management, internal tools, platform product, software delivery, or related roles
• Prior experience as a software engineer, technical founder, technical product manager, engineering lead, or similarly hands-on software builder
• Ability to code well enough to prototype, evaluate implementation tradeoffs, and work credibly with software engineers
• Experience owning software products or tools from discovery through launch and iteration
• Strong product judgment: able to translate user pain points into clear requirements, prioritize competing needs, and define success
• Experience working directly with end users to understand workflows, gather feedback, and drive adoption
• Strong execution orientation: able to manage ambiguity, sequence work, unblock progress, and ship quickly
• Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with limited structure and high ownership
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate tradeoffs, risks, and progress to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Own internal software product development from idea to adoption. Translate workflows into clear product requirements, technical specs, user stories, and success criteria.
• Partner closely with software engineers, contractors, and technical partners to scope, sequence, and deliver internal tools; write clear technical product requirements and manage delivery cadence.
• Develop tools for cross-functional teams across engineering, construction, project execution, documentation, scheduling, modeling, procurement, and operations; ensure integration with existing data sources and platforms.
• Audit internal software stack and identify where build, buy, integrate, or retire decisions create leverage; act as internal expert on resource requirements and tradeoffs.
• Partner with AI/ML teams to integrate data, models, and automation into tools; explore LLMs and agentic workflows to reduce repetitive work and accelerate prototyping
