WSP is seeking a Senior Technical Manager, Electrical Engineer to join our Industrial Center of Excellence team. This role is pivotal in delivering electrical engineering design for large-scale industrial projects across multiple locations in the U.S.

The ideal candidate will work on advanced manufacturing, food & beverage, and mission-critical facilities, leading teams and ensuring project compliance with relevant standards while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

Job Description
This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Technical Manager, Electrical Engineer to join our Industrial Center of Excellence (CoE) team. This role can sit in multiple locations across the U.S.

Your Impact
  • Serve as a senior technical leader delivering electrical engineering design for large-scale industrial projects (e.g., advanced manufacturing, food & beverage, mission‑critical facilities).
  • Lead the design and oversight of electrical systems including:
    • Power distribution and generation systems
    • Emergency and backup systems
    • Lighting and life safety systems
    • Industrial controls and infrastructure systems
  • Provide technical direction and quality oversight for multi‑disciplinary project teams across the Industrial CoE.
  • Act as a client‑facing leader, developing and maintaining strong relationships and supporting business development efforts.
  • Lead and contribute to proposal development, scope definition, and project planning.
  • Oversee project delivery, including budgets, schedules, and coordination across engineering disciplines.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, etc.) and WSP quality expectations.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff to support career growth and technical excellence.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives within the Industrial CoE.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical design for industrial, manufacturing, or large‑scale commercial/mission‑critical facilities.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi‑disciplinary projects.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design principles, codes, and industry standards.
  • Experience with client engagement and business development strategies.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Industrial or Manufacturing Center of Excellence models.
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems, automation, and industrial controls.
  • Proficiency with Revit, BIM, and advanced design tools.
  • Multi‑office or national project experience.
  • Previous experience mentoring or leading technical teams.
