Job summary

Harris & Associates is hiring a Technical Lead / Principal Engineer to provide project leadership, QA/QC on design deliverables, and staff mentoring for the Engineering division.

Lead technical designs for transportation projects including roadways, bridges, and pipelines, and manage contracts, schedules, and client communications. This role requires a CA PE license and 15+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Master’s degree in civil engineering or a related field preferred.
• Professional Engineering (PE) License in CA and relevant state(s) required.
• 15+ years of relevant experience performing engineering work in transportation market or similar practice.
• Establishing and adhering to budgets, schedules, work plans, and contract performance requirements.
• Written and verbal communication skills sufficient to prepare project documentation and interface with clients.

Responsibilities

• Leads technical aspects of projects with complex transportation features (roads, bridges, pipelines).
• Plans, schedules, coordinates preparation of contract deliverables, construction drawings, and specs for multiple major projects.
• Maintains relationships with transportation market engineering team, clients and communities.
• Mentors staff and contributes to proposals for new work.
• Remains up-to-date with local agency regulations and design standards.
