Job summary

REI is seeking a Senior Product Developer to lead the development of technical gear from concept to production readiness. You will own packs, travel bags, luggage, sleeping bags, bike bags, coolers, and sewn accessories, aligning with performance, quality, and cost goals.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product development experience.
• Experience developing technical gear products (packs, luggage, sleeping bags, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of development, manufacturing, and commercialization processes.
• Experience creating technical specifications and illustrations via Adobe Illustrator.
• Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, PLM systems, Microsoft Office, and SolidWorks.
• Experience improving development processes and introducing new manufacturing techniques.
• Experience with Browzwear or other 3D product development tools.
• Experience working with global manufacturing partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of technical gear products from brief through design to production readiness.
• Create and maintain technical specifications, product documentation, and CAD drawings.
• Manage prototype development, evaluate performance and manufacturability, and guide product improvements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams and suppliers to resolve technical and production challenges.
• Support target costing, pre-costing, and cost engineering activities to meet business goals.
