Job summary

Applied Research Laboratory at the Penn State University is seeking a Technical Engineering Project Manager within the Trusted Systems Engineering Department. The role focuses on SME-level research and testing for design, development, and deployment of advanced RF/acoustic systems and related engineering disciplines.

The position requires DoD clearance readiness, on-site work with optional limited hybrid arrangements, and frequent travel to remote locations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with passive/active RF systems.
• Proficient in traditional analysis and modeling techniques.
• Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
• Strong communication and organizational skills in dynamic environments.

Responsibilities

• Apply RF/acoustic system analysis across development lifecycle.
• Use MBSE and modeling tools to evaluate designs and processes.
• Lead technical execution for R&D, prototyping, implementation, and maintenance.
• Coordinate with sponsors and contractors on program status and plans.
• Develop and present status updates to fleet-level personnel.
