Job summary

Acara Solutions in Buffalo, NY, is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to lead architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment of complex technical solutions that support evolving business needs.

You will partner with technology leaders, business stakeholders, customers, support teams, and vendors to translate requirements into scalable systems while mentoring engineers and promoting reliability, security, and best practices across teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 12+ years of experience in systems design, management or architecture.
• 12+ years of experience as Senior Site Reliability Engineer.
• 12+ years of experience in defining reliability standards (SLOs/SLAs).
• 12+ years as SME for reliability, performance, resilience, and canary deployments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment of new and existing technical solutions, including infrastructure initiatives.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver aligned solutions.
• Establish and promote technology standards, policies, and security controls across projects.
• Coordinate vendor relationships and support technology budgets and adoption of new trends.
• Mentor engineers and review proposed solutions to promote quality and continuous development.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment of new and existing technical solutions, including infrastructure and systems initiatives.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements, assess complex opportunities, estimate project effort, and deliver solutions aligned with organizational goals.
• Establish and promote technology standards, best practices, policies, and procedures while ensuring solutions meet risk, regulatory, security, and internal control requirements.
• Coordinate vendor relationships and external resources, while supporting technology budgets and contributing to research and adoption of emerging industry trends and technologies.
• Mentor and coach less experienced engineers and technical staff, reviewing proposed solutions, documentation, and technical changes to promote quality and continuous development.

Job Requirements

What You'll Bring:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum12 years of experience insystems design, management or architecture.
• Minimum12 years of experience in Senior site reliability engineer, Azure, Terraform, GitLab, Artifactory, CICD, Active Active deploy
• Minimum12 years of experience in Defining and driving service reliability standards, including SLOs, SLAs, and error budgets
• Minimum12 years of experience in Serve as a SME for reliability, performance, resilience, and blue green/canary deployments

What Sets You Apart:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years advanced experience in a technical engineering position involving infrastructure design technologies, data management and interchange, system design or development for complex applications.
• Ability to translate complex business and functional requirements into structured high-quality implementations using any variety of industry standard approaches.
• Demonstrated ability to develop alternative solutions to complex problems and recommend the best solution to the technology business, and project teams.
