Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Technical Editor and Writer Level 5 to join our Mission Systems team, supporting MB Engineering and digital transformation initiatives. The role requires extensive technical writing, subject-matter interviews, and collaboration across departments.

The candidate will develop manuals, specifications, and interactive docs, ensuring high-quality deliverables while meeting tight deadlines. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 12 years of experience or Master’s Degree with 10 years of experience; more years accepted in lieu of a degree.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with publishing software.
• Experience with vector graphic designing applications (Illustrator preferred).
• Ability to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen; ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Write and/or edit technical documents such as manuals, specs, and publications.
• Communicate technical specifications to diverse audiences.
• Develop subject knowledge by interviewing product developers and reviewing specs.
• Drive documentation through inputs to final distribution and take ownership of outputs.
• Lead preparation of illustrative materials with drawings, diagrams, and charts.
• Conduct quality review of materials and develop new concepts and standards.
• Present findings to stakeholders and support implementation within teams.
• Serve as lead consultant to management on policies and objectives and participate in conferences.
• Develop agendas and capture minutes to assess documentation impacts.
