Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Technical Editor and Writer Level 5 based out of Merritt Island, FL (also Silverdale, WA; Sunnyvale, CA; Kings Bay, GA; Ocean Springs, MS). You will write and edit technical documents and lead documentation projects within a collaborative, Agile environment as part of our E&S team.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree with 12 years (or Master’s with 10) and proficiency with Microsoft Office and publishing software; ability to obtain a Secret clearance; U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of experience or Master’s degree with 10 years of experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and publishing software.
• Experience with vector graphic design tools (Illustrator preferred).
• Ability to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Write and/or edit technical documents such as manuals and specifications.
• Communicate technical requirements to diverse audiences.
• Develop subject knowledge by interviewing developers and reviewing specs.
• Own documentation processes from inputs to final distribution.
• Lead creation of illustrative drawings and charts.
• Conduct quality reviews of materials.
• Develop new concepts, techniques, and standards.
• Present technical approaches and findings to stakeholders.
• Support a team of technical writers and editors.
• Serve as lead consultant on policies, plans, and objectives.
