Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Technical Editor in Albuquerque, NM to support technical documentation and facility operations. The role requires editing procedural, safety, and training materials with robust LaTeX skills.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years editing complex technical documents for DOE or high-hazard facilities, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communication, Communications, Engineering, Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years editing technical documents supporting facility operations at DOE, commercial nuclear, or high-hazard non-nuclear facilities.
• Experience developing, reviewing, and revising technical procedures and controlled documentation.
• Experience with safety management programs, training materials, and task analyses.
• Experience with facility systems and operational processes documentation.
• Proficient in LaTeX.
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading and document-quality skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle complex technical information.
• Effective collaboration with subject matter experts and project teams.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Review and edit technical documents, procedures, policies, and programs for facility operations.
• Assess revisions for potential safety program impacts from modifications.
• Review documentation for training materials and job task analyses.
• Develop or revise instructions for operation of key facility systems.
• Maintain safety-related documentation per Authorization Basis.
• Develop or revise Operations Center Response procedures.
• Ensure clarity, accuracy, consistency and proper formatting of documents.
• Collaborate with SMEs, operations staff, and project teams on documentation.
• Use LaTeX to develop and maintain technical documentation.
• Maintain document quality and compliance with procedures.
• Follow internal procedures and industry standards.
• Work safely and report health/safety concerns.
• Perform additional duties as required.
