Job summary

Ann Taylor is seeking a Technical Designer to support the Senior Technical Designer in executing fit comments, managing the sample development process, and generating computerized specification packages for a women's apparel category.

The role collaborates with production, product development, design and merchandising to ensure quality and timely delivery, travels as needed, and upholds brand standards while embracing diversity.

Qualifications

• 10+ years Technical Design experience in women's apparel.
• Degree in clothing/Textiles related field preferred.
• Expertise with patternmaking, fit, grading and production methods.
• Ability to collaborate across departments and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Attend fittings and relevant departmental meetings.
• Protect brand integrity through fit continuity and construction standards.
• Capture feedback during fittings and execute fit comments.
• Coordinate with QA during Pre-Pro Sample Process for assigned category.
• Maintain fit tracking and adhere to cross-functional calendars.
• Identify at-risk styles and alert Sr TD or Manager proactively.
• Travel domestically and internationally to support vendor development and sourcing.
• Represent department in cross-function initiatives and foster teamwork.
