Job summary

Torrid in City of Industry, California, is seeking a Technical Designer to oversee the technical product development process and ensure fit, construction, and quality across categories. You will develop apparel specs, attend fittings, and liaise daily with vendors.

Required are a four-year degree in fashion merchandising/design or related field, plus 5+ years in technical design or quality assurance. Strong Adobe Illustrator, Word, and Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years in technical design, pattern making, or quality assurance, or equivalent experience.
Bachelor's or higher in fashion merchandising/design preferred.
Strong knowledge of fit, balance, grading, and garment production.
Ability to lead fittings and communicate with vendors and teams.

Responsibilities

Oversee fit, construction, quality, and consistency from development to production.
Attend development handovers, issue initial specs, and lead fits for overseas vendors.
Adjust patterns as needed and maintain Torrid grade standards.
Track fit approvals and deadlines with Product Development teams.
Mentor assistants and coordinate weekly cross-functional meetings.
