Job summary

NYC Alliance seeks a Senior Technical Designer with extensive experience in contemporary and premium apparel to join our team. The role emphasizes fit, construction, and technical specifications across categories, ensuring brand integrity from development through production.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of fitting and garment construction, ability to communicate with factories and cross-functional teams, and experience with PLM systems to manage technical packages and specs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in technical design (or equivalent).
• Experience with contemporary and premium fashion brands.
• Ability to assemble detailed technical packages for production.
• Experience participating in fittings and evaluating garment construction.
• Proficiency with PLM systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical packages for fit sample development in all categories.
• Evaluate fit samples, pre-production and TOP samples for specs, quality and workmanship.
• Maintain consistency of product fit, specs, and development processes across brands.
• Conduct fittings with designers and internal teams on live models and body forms.
• Write fit comments to factories with clear technical notes and visuals.
• Maintain a product library for future reference.
• Communicate with factories and cross-functional partners daily to solve problems and ensure product integrity.
• Coordinate with Production on timing of approval comments to meet deliveries.
• Serve as a liaison between Design, Sales, Production, and Factory to ensure specs are met.
• Plan fit schedules with models and designers.
• Update and maintain department fit logs.
