Job summary

Annapolis Micro Systems is seeking a knowledgeable Technical Buyer to source, negotiate, and manage suppliers of custom hardware and electronic components for COTS computer products. You will handle RFQs, bid processes, and ensure clear technical communication between engineering, program management, customers, quality, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in engineering, procurement or supply chain within electronics or PCB manufacturing
• Reading engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing supplier relationships
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP and standard procurement workflows
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems
• Ability to lift 20 lbs

Responsibilities

• Interpret fabrication drawings, quality standards and BOMs to assess supplier capability and compliance
• Evaluate and qualify custom hardware suppliers through capability assessments and audits
• Collaborate with engineering on DFM feedback, material selection and early supplier involvement
• Maintain procurement data in ERP/MRP systems including POs, lead times and supplier records
• Monitor market trends in materials, technologies and supply chain risks
• Coordinate prototype builds with suppliers to support NPD and production ramp
