Job summary

Custom Manufacturing & Engineering (CME) seeks an Electronics Buyer to lead purchasing for machinery, components, and services used in customer designs. The role involves negotiating with suppliers, vetting proposals, and issuing POs while coordinating with production to align with schedules.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in electronics purchasing, a related Bachelor’s degree, and familiarity with Deltek CostPoint ERP and MS Excel. ITAR/EAR compliance knowledge is required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of related Electronics/ Electrical components buying experience.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred; high school or AA/AS with tech background considered.
• Access to controlled goods and technologies subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
• Required Tests: Predictive Index, Reference, Credit, Other.

Responsibilities

• Level load component purchases with Production Planner to meet build schedules.
• Manage orders to ensure on-time delivery and favorable cash flow for the SMB.
• Solicit, analyze, and issue price proposals and Purchase Orders for parts and services.
• Evaluate suppliers on price, quality, service, delivery, and reliability.
• Monitor shipments and resolve undelivered goods issues; maintain records of costs and inventories.
• Ensure compliance with laws and contracts; prepare reports and bids as needed.
