Senior Technical Artist - Tools & Pipeline
CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a Senior Technical Artist with a focus on Tools and Pipelines to join our studio for Project Orion, the follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077. In this role, you will contribute to the research and development of our in-house tools and pipeline solutions to meet our creative and technical goals.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Work closely with designers, artists, and developers to understand their needs and ensure the tools and pipelines support their workflows.
- Extend and enhance Digital Content Creation applications such as Maya, MotionBuilder, or other DCC tools.
- Ensure tools scale efficiently without sacrificing performance, maintaining smooth workflows.
- Write high-quality, optimized, bug-free code aligned with project goals.
- Prototype, research, extend, and integrate in-house tools and third-party solutions for content development teams.
- Provide documentation, training, and guidance for development teams.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration to ensure tools and pipelines contribute effectively to all game systems.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 5 years of professional experience as a tools & pipeline developer or technical artist in the game or film industry.
- Strong experience in C++, C#, and/or Python for tool/plugin development and scripting.
- Familiarity with content creation software such as Blender, Autodesk Maya, Substance Painter.
- Understanding of content creation processes and supporting diverse content development teams.
- Experience creating, extending, and maintaining APIs for co-developers.
- Familiarity with application interoperability development.
- Experience with network automation, batching, and environment setups.
- Creative and strategic thinking to solve technical challenges and innovate.
- Ownership, goal-setting, knowledge sharing, and independent initiative driving.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with procedural content systems.
- Knowledge of UI/UX design patterns.
- Experience with Unreal Engine 5.
- Content performance and memory optimization skills.
This role can be fully remote from the USA or Canada.
