Job summary

Bridgenext is seeking a Principal Engineer / Technical Architect with hands-on engineering and domain knowledge in US Retirement, wealth management, or asset management to design enterprise modernization. You will own architecture, review code, and guide modernization across Azure/AWS, microservices, containers, and data stores, translating business needs into scalable designs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on roles
• Strong backend depth in Java/Spring Boot, .NET/C#, or Python
• Hands-on experience with Azure and distributed-system patterns
• Experience designing production APIs using REST/OpenAPI and API gateways
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, caching, and performance tradeoffs
• Domain experience in US Retirement/wealth/asset management
• Security design for sensitive financial data and IAM
• Ability to produce architectures, mentor teams, and lead modernization programs

Responsibilities

• Lead detailed solution design across APIs, data persistence, security, and deployment
• Write/review code, build POCs, and drive technical spikes
• Define cloud-native, distributed systems with microservices and serverless patterns
• Design reusable API/integration patterns and event streaming
• Drive legacy modernization with strangler patterns and safe coexistence
• Define persistence and caching strategies with transactional boundaries
• Embed security and privacy into designs with IAM and encryption
• Establish CI/CD, IaC, observability, and production diagnostics
• Mentor engineers and ensure architectural alignment across teams
