Senior Technical Architect Information Technology - Epic Patient Access

The Senior Technical Architect Information Technology serves as a senior technical expert responsible for leading the design, build, optimization, and delivery of Epic Patient Access and Experience solutions across NewYork-Presbyterian's enterprise environment. Provides deep application expertise ensuring that registration, scheduling, and patient movement operate reliably and efficiently across various contexts. Translates operational and clinical needs into scalable Epic configurations balancing hands‑on build with strong collaboration and communication skills. Translates clinical content UI/UX design within Epic, developing intuitive strategies, decision support and guided scheduling workflows that enhance scheduling efficiency and drive a more seamless patient experience. Defines build standards, promotes best practices, and ensures a consistent, high‑quality configuration across sites and teams. Trusted by clinical, administrative, and technical stakeholders, the role plays a key part in improving access, enhancing operational throughput, and supporting NYP's digital strategy. Collaborates with enterprise technology teams and affiliated institutions ensures coordinated, high‑performance EHR systems that meet organizational and patient needs.

Essential Job Duties
  • Applies comprehensive technical knowledge to assigned system(s), and provides technical informational support to Information Services staff as well as end users. Provides consultation on projects and is considered to be a technical expert for assigned system(s).
  • Researches, plans, and designs interfaces between a wide variety of systems to support clinical and business needs of the Hospital and Physician Organizations. Works with other members of the team to inform on the prioritization and delivery dates. Develops, tests, documents, and implements changes and enhancements to existing interfaces, support scripts, or other changes to the interface engine environment.
  • Participate in key user committees to identify business requirements and recommend solutions which conform to organizational goals and regulatory guidelines.
  • Provides business related and technical design guidance to other IS staff in the development and support of other IS systems. Provide technical assistance to other staff members. If Clinical oversees the technical design implementation, analysis, and modifications of new/existing, programs and systems to support the clinical, corporate and technical operations across all facilities.
  • Develop, implement and oversee the advanced technical activities for the most complex Information Services initiatives. Provides technical support to Information Services staff as well as end users. Provide project leadership with the implementation of new applications and systems.
  • Creates and maintains accurate and current documentation regarding application(s) supported by the team. Participates in the maintenance of training materials and disseminates materials to users. Reviews documentation and training materials prepared by fellow Analysts.
  • Design a highly maintainable and scalable software architecture that can support rapid changes in a high‑quality fashion. Develop technical design documents to describe and support justification of the chosen architecture and proposed implementation.
  • Monitors system performance and response times. Recommends performance improvements, and provide reports to users and management as required.
  • Acts as visionary and strategist for solution product area. Develops and executes solution strategies that support product growth and agility.
  • Assists in the day to day oversight and management of the team as needed.
  • Surveys market landscape for solution insights, direction, vendors, and methods.
  • Provides mentoring, training and other resources to fellow analysts, as well, maintains a favorable work environment for all team members and clients. Oversees the instruction, direction and inspection of assignments for fellow Analysts.
