Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Technical Architect SME to lead the end-to-end system integration architecture for a critical federal data migration program. This fully remote role requires you to serve as the technical authority, ensure governance compliance, and drive multi-workstream management across a 12-month delivery effort.

The position emphasizes architectural leadership, API standards, and production cutover oversight, with deep knowledge of FITARA, FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required; must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Extensive experience in systems architecture or technical leadership on federal IT programs.
• Demonstrated experience designing end-to-end integration architectures for federal systems.
• Deep knowledge of federal IT governance frameworks including FITARA, FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST standards.
• Experience with AWS cloud platforms and API integration design in a hybrid AWS cloud hosting environment.
• Experience leading technical teams across multi-workstream federal programs.
• Strong technical documentation skills; experience producing architecture artifacts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall system architecture design for the federal data integration, ensuring compliance with IT governance, platform standards, and interoperability conformance requirements.
• Establish and baseline the interoperability conformance framework at project kickoff, defining API standards, protocols, and data exchange requirements for all integration points.
• Design the end-to-end integration architecture spanning cloud data platforms, web applications, authoritative data systems, and decision logic engines.
• Lead workstream management across all project phases, ensuring technical dependencies are identified, sequenced, and resolved.
• Conduct compliance validation from a technical architecture perspective, ensuring the integrated system meets all regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate all proposed technical changes against platform constraints and elevate boundary violations.
• Lead the design of authorized API integration pathways between source systems and the cloud data platform.
• Provide technical oversight of the production migration runbook and cutover execution.
• Lead the development of the Final Operational Playbooks, providing technical architecture documentation covering system maintenance procedures, incident response protocols, and integration sustainability guidance.
• Serve as the technical escalation point for the team, resolving complex integration, compliance, and architecture issues.
