Job summary

540 seeks a Senior Solutions Architect to lead architecture across a federal health data platform, spanning cloud, on-prem, and government data centers. You will translate requirements into scalable designs, modernize legacy capabilities, and establish reusable patterns across teams.

You will work with engineers, program leadership, and stakeholders to shape the data platform ecosystem, build trust, and demonstrate the value 540 brings to complex mission challenges while operating remotely

Qualifications

• 8+ years in solutions architecture, data architecture, software architecture, platform engineering, or related field.
• Experience designing enterprise data platforms or distributed solutions across systems and boundaries.
• Strong understanding of modern data platform concepts: ingestion, integration, transformation, storage, APIs, data products.
• Experience designing cloud or hybrid-cloud solutions and integrating legacy systems.

Responsibilities

• Define scalable solution architectures for a federal health data platform across cloud, on-prem, and government-hosted environments.
• Translate mission, business, data, security, and operational requirements into technical designs and implementation strategies.
• Develop current-state and target-state architectures to modernize legacy data systems and capabilities.
• Design integration approaches for data exchange across diverse defense and federal systems, including APIs and data products.
• Establish reference architectures, patterns, standards, and guardrails to improve cross-team interoperability.
• Guide engineering teams through complex designs and document key decisions and roadmaps.
• Communicate architectural tradeoffs clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
