Job summary

Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, based in Austin, TX, seeks a Manager of Technical Accounting to lead endowment and program-related investment accounting, controls, and disclosures. This role partners with global finance teams and external advisors to ensure strong financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate brings CPA credentials, 6–8 years in public accounting with nonprofit experience, and deep GAAP knowledge, including not-for-profit standards.

Qualifications

• CPA required and valid licensure.
• 6–8 years in public accounting with fund/nonprofit experience.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 958, ASC 820, and ASC 830.
• Strong investment accounting background including NAV measurement and K-1 reconciliation.
• Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation and international subsidiaries.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI).
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial audiences.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting operations, controls and disclosures for the Foundation’s endowment and PRI portfolio.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP; coordinate with auditors and tax advisors.
• Maintain and update accounting policies aligned with regulatory needs.
• Design, document, and test controls over investment, PRI, intercompany and close processes.
• Lead special projects to improve efficiency, data integrity and reporting.
• Collaborate with internal partners and external partners including auditors and tax advisors.
