Job summary

CNM Foundation in Dallas seeks a principal fiscal accountant to manage receipt, custody, and disbursement of funds, advise on budgets, and coordinate with auditors, custodial banks, and investment consultants.

The role requires nonprofit GAAP expertise, at least five years of accounting experience, and strong Excel/Solomon skills. CPA a plus; will prepare financial reports, budgets, and tax filings in consultation with leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred; CPA designation a plus.
• At least five years of accounting experience.
• Thorough knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards under U.S. GAAP and working knowledge of investments.

Responsibilities

• Implements GAAP and policies approved by the Board; advises President on financial matters.
• Manages accounting systems for receipt, custody, and disbursement of Foundation funds.
• Prepares operating, capital, and grant budgets and narratives for Board review.
• Forecasts cash requirements and provides cash flow analyses for investment decisions.
• Prepares monthly and annual financial reports and budget-to-actual comparisons.
• Coordinate with payroll provider on payroll processing and related accounting.
• Coordinate with Grants Administrator on accounts payable and grant payments.
