Job summary

Northrop Grumman in McLean, Virginia, seeks a Technical Accounting Manager 2 to perform GAAP accounting research, analyze complex transactions, and support SEC/SOX compliance within the Sector's Financial Reporting team.

The role reports to the Director of Financial Planning and Reporting, requires DoD Secret clearance eligibility, on-site work in McLean, and up to 10% travel. CPA and Big 4 audit experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related discipline with substantial accounting experience.
• Master's degree in accounting or related discipline with substantial accounting experience.
• Must have or be able to obtain DoD Secret security clearance.
• On-site work in McLean, VA.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-call technical accounting guidance and GAAP research.
• Analyze complex transactions and draft white papers with recommendations.
• Coordinate with external auditors and present findings to management.
• Update accounting policies for new pronouncements and changes.
• Review revenue recognition under ASC606 and oversee SOX functions.
