Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector seeks a Technical Accounting Manager 3 to join the McLean, VA team. You will provide on-call technical accounting guidance, research standards for complex transactions, and draft white papers for leadership.

You will supervise accounting operations and contribute to SOX governance in a dynamic defense environment. Required are a CPA, DoD Secret clearance eligibility, and Big 4 audit background.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree in accounting or related discipline with a minimum of 9 years (Bachelor) or 7 years (Master).
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
• Must be able to work on-site in McLean, Virginia.
• Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
• CPA License required.
• Recent Big 4 or recognized public accounting firm audit experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-call technical accounting guidance.
• Research and analyze application of accounting standards to complex business transactions.
• Draft white papers summarizing accounting issues and recommendations.
• Coordinate research findings with external auditors.
• Prepare presentations on accounting treatment and recommendations for senior finance management.
• Update sector accounting policies for new pronouncements and changes.
• Provide accounting and policy training as needed.
• Perform miscellaneous financial analysis.
• Review revenue recognition checklists under ASC606.
• Review estimates at completion (EAC).
• Oversee sector accounting operations team and SOX function.
