Job summary

H-E-B is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead end-to-end software initiatives and guide architecture, security, and performance improvements. The role emphasizes independent work, mentoring, and strategic advisory input to Digital Leadership Team across multi-team projects.

The position requires deep expertise in software design, SDLC, and platform-level architectures, with a focus on scalable and reliable systems and proactive health of applications and services.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software development.
• Experience with Git, Jira, and Confluence.
• Experience writing unit tests and testable code.
• Expert knowledge of multiple programming languages, technologies, and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Consults on solution development with Digital Leadership Team for strategic business and technology issues
• Translates complex business and technology needs into objectives, plans, specifications, resources, and long-term goals
• Serves as a strategic advisor to Digital Leadership Team on new initiatives
• Creates collaborative networks across the broader organization
• Drives technical strategy across teams they influence
• Leads production support, on-call, debugging, and troubleshooting of issues impacting multiple teams and services
