Job summary

Cambium Learning Group seeks a Principal Software Engineer for ExploreK12 Literacy. You will dive into a mature application, guide modernization, and set technical direction across teams while remaining hands-on to influence product quality and delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience operating as a senior technical leader on complex software systems.
• Hands-on production code and architecture decisions across large-scale products.

Responsibilities

• Get deeply into applications, codebases, data flows, and operational behavior to understand how the system actually works.
• Contribute meaningful production code and own or contribute to projects, migrations, architectural changes, and difficult investigations.
• Partner with architects and product teams to evolve a mature product, surface risks, and design practical modernization strategies.
• Provide principal-level technical leadership and help shape long-term architectural direction across multiple teams.
