Job summary

Accelerate Learning seeks a Software Architect to own the end-to-end architectural lifecycle for core curriculum and supplemental platforms. You will define non-functional targets, ensure scalability, security, and operability, and work hands-on with engineers to deliver robust solutions.

Collaborating with product, curriculum, and engineering teams, you will drive observability, incident management, and platform health while balancing modernization with continuity for district onboarding

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in CS or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 7+ years of software engineering with leadership.
• Experience owning architectures of complex production systems.
• Cloud-native SaaS architectures in EdTech preferred.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and API design.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes in production and AWS at scale.
• Experience with IaC and modern tooling.
• Define and track non-functional requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Software Architect for core curriculum and services.
• Own maintenance and operability of production apps; incident management.
• Drive architectural health, debt reduction, and modernization plans.
• Lead migrations and system consolidations with minimal disruption.
• Collaborate with Product/Delivery to maintain platform health backlog.
• Review and approve architectural changes with rollback safety.
• Ensure secure, compliant integrations (LMS/LTI, identity, etc.).
• Define NFR targets and oversee performance testing strategies.
• Establish observability standards and alerting baselines.
• Hands-on delivery participation; mentor engineers; cross-team alignment.
