Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking a specialist to improve silicon photonic device performance and manufacturability. You will mine and analyze data, simulate test structures, and coordinate electro/optical tests to drive device quality and yield.

The role requires mastery of CAD tools and scripting, plus hands-on experience with PDKs, macro design, and HFSS. Domestic travel up to 10% is expected, with a focus on production support and process optimization.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field of study.
• 2 years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience in silicon photonics and related areas, plus 1 year in coding, simulation, PDK, macro design, SKILL Cadence, and HFSS.

Responsibilities

• Improve performance and manufacturability of silicon photonic devices.
• Perform data mining and data analysis; design and coordinate electro/optical test structures.
• Develop open-source software enablement and support device/macro design and simulation.
• Own a technology module; prioritize projects and lead for improvement experiments and hardware disposition.
• Drive cost reductions through line and test yield improvements and process efficiency.
• Travel up to 10% domestically.
