BDO USA, LLP, a leading accounting firm, is seeking a Tax Manager in Private Client Services to provide sophisticated tax planning and compliance for high net-worth individuals and families. You’ll work directly with clients, review returns, and lead engagements, collaborating with specialists and leadership to drive results.

The role emphasizes client service, technical depth, and leadership, with opportunities to expand relationships and contribute to firm growth across multiple states.

Qualifications

• Five (5) or more years prior experience in accounting, finance, or law is required
• Public accounting or private client service experience is preferred
• CPA/EA or equivalent professional credential is required; other certifications are a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and tax software; strong research and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities; ability to manage client engagements and teams
• Ability to develop business relationships and contribute to firm growth

Responsibilities

• Manage tax and consulting engagements and identify client needs and opportunities
• Coordinate with clients and advisors to gather information for tax returns
• Review varied tax returns and provide feedback to staff and interns
• Direct communications with government agencies on complex matters
• Conduct advanced tax research and propose sound recommendations
• Develop deeper tax knowledge through client engagements and current tax developments
• Prioritize tasks and collaborate with teams to meet deadlines
• Support PCS and firm activities including billing, recruiting, and training
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and external sources
