Job summary

BDO USA, LLP is seeking a Senior Tax professional for Private Client Services in Florida. The role focuses on estate, gift, trust planning and complex tax consulting for high net-worth individuals and families, with client contact from start to finish.

You will oversee tax engagements, perform research, and supervise a team while maintaining relationships with clients and external advisors. A CPA/EA or equivalent is required, with 7+ years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree required; major in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics, preferred
• Masters in Accountancy or Taxation, preferred
• Seven (7) or more years prior experience in accounting, finance, or law, required
• Experience in the private client service area, required
• Prior supervisory experience, required
• Experience working in public accounting, preferred
• Certified Public Accountant credential, IRS Enrolled Agent credential, Attorney (admitted in a U.S. jurisdiction), or equivalent, required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat, required

Responsibilities

• Manages tax and consulting engagements and identifies client needs, tax planning and opportunities
• Acts as primary client contact for preparation and presentation of issues and resolutions
• Reviews complex returns for individuals, trusts, estates, S-Corps, foundations, partnerships and gifts
• Directs communication with government agencies on high‑complexity matters
• Performs advanced tax research and develops recommendations for PCS leadership and clients
• Maintains knowledge of current tax developments through client engagements
• Prioritizes and reviews work to keep engagements on track
• Assists with PCS/firm contributions including billing, recruitment, attendance and CPE
• Builds and maintains relationships with BDO professionals and external sources
